Dr. Jonathan Citow, a board certified neurosurgeon, saw firsthand the challenges of getting good visualization of the lower cervical spine, particularly on larger patients with short necks or bulky shoulders.

Traditional methods would be to pull and tape down the shoulders, leaving many patients bruised and sore following these procedures. He decided to find a better way — one that was easier on the OR team and patients. Several design concepts later, the radiolucent carbon fiber CCV was born and the Universal Table Mount was later developed to complete the CCV System.

The CCV System is now in place at hospitals and surgery centers throughout the US and abroad.

Dr. Jonathan Citow is a world renowned neurosurgeon, author of the Comprehensive Neurosurgical Board Review book series and several journal publications. He currently practices in Illinois.
